They're meant to be top to bottom ballistic medium, energy or at least universal small and missile below the belt. Yes those 2 large and two medium are intended for proof of concept at least to be somewhat awkward firing large and medium missile mounts. And yes the lack of dedicated PD slots is intentional.

Dunno. Maneuvering jets and medium+ slots come to mind. But you could always fuck around with a hackjob of making a phase carrier or such, normally that wouldn't work but in built wings and reserve deployment does magical things. Also I'm more of a doomfag.
