It's sadly a lot more complicated than that. The first huge exodus was after the election toruists came and ruined the site, combined with the elimination of quests & writefagging. There's a gigantic dropoff after most of the liberal-leaning creatives got hit with a double whammy of "Fuck off, we don't want you here" both materially and culturally. These were the people who kept /tg/ going and the board has been dying since then. Phoneposting made shitposting rampant and the ubiquity of this (one schizo can kill a general) means that now all you have are people addicted to (You)'s shitposting constantly while every good poster who would improve the quality of the community just goes somewhere else.
