My only real AT In 2k points is a Predator, a Repulsor Executioner and a Vindicator. I've got exactly 100 points left. Do you think a squad of just 3 Eradicator dudes is going to be fine for some extra AT stuff? Just walk them onto the board round 2 and try to pop something?

>>95865224Serpentine Scourge
https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Serpentine_Scourge
Their entry is very long, you don't have to read it all at once.
>>95865211I bought some built AOS models off ebay, and the guy put in HUGE effort to photograph everything in a way to hide the fact that he left ALL nubs that go on contact points on, so almost nothing fit right.
Like, while assembling he would have seen that the chunk of plastic wasn't letting the two halves off the horse come together. Didn't care, glued it anyway.
I bought a cool unpainting chaos knight conversion project a guy gave up on off ebay.
The photos didn't show one section of the model, but the rest looked fine.
That one section had a colossal drip of dried superglue as if he'd just held the tube over the model and squeezed it like it owed him money.
Also, the ever popular "Maybe I'll save money on shipping if I take these sprues out of this box and jam them in a bubble envelope."
>>95865233Makes you really wonder what they were thinking during 8th edition by making up all those warbands, and never doing anything with them.
>>95865248Not every smaller subfaction needs an extensive history. Smaller warbands/chapters/craftworlds/whatever have just enough fluff to get you interested so you can take over the narrative for them if you want to paint your mans that way. That said I would like more stories about smaller chaos warbands. Those are usually the most fun because it doesn't involve fucking primarchs and named characters and shit which is all boring because none of them will ever die and I'm sick of fucking primarch soap opera drama.
>>95865275>extensiveI never said that. But at least a short story would have been nice.
>>95865248And interpreting it as a warband (and not just the name of that guy) is also a deliberate choice on lexicanum's end, here is the source:
From the first print of the 8th edition codex, later removed in errata 2.1
>>95865248Do you know how many marine chapters exist who's lore is just?
>this is there color scheme lmao
8th edition AL before and after errata
>>95865310The Alpha Legion have a cool aesthetic but retarded lore. Shame.
>>95865242>he left ALL nubs that go on contact points on, so almost nothing fit rightI have a friend who's done this on several kits, even on kits where things naturally slot together without much effort he always leaves huge gaps, I remember he assembled a plastic kit with superglue and half of it wasn't even glued down properly. It also makes them an absolute misery to paint because they just look sloppy in a way a good paintjob can't save.
>Also, the ever popular "Maybe I'll save money on shipping if I take these sprues out of this box and jam them in a bubble envelope."not gonna lie I do this quite frequently, but only if I'm sure it will actually fit. I think the best I ever did was cutting the sticky out bits of sprue off a character sprue and putting that in a normal envelope, you can't really complain when it makes it an absolute bargain for the buyer as well.
>>95864777 (OP)>TQ finishing my Necron combat patrol, will post it when I finish it [spoiler[except the basing because I still don't know what I want to do for that and I haven't actually based a model[/spoiler]
>>95865310For real, what did they plan to do with 8th
>>95865321Yeah, I picked a scheme (green and silver) way before I looked into the lore, and I can't say I liked it, so I ended up picking the least-AL AL warband, mostly interpreting them as green WB, playing with the new cabal detachment
>>95864777 (OP)>TQI finished my command squad and Dreir so I'm giving myself a break from krieg to do some kasrkin instead, then all I have left for my guard is another krieg infantry squad and 10 death riders.
The idea of a CSM based on the Frenzy from elden ring keeps floating around my head, how could I do a convincing fingerprint effect on armor? I was thinking about maybe using putty to get my fingerprints, then using it as a sort of stamp. Do you guys think it would work?
Also I feel that dark metal armour and yellow cloth would look better than just straight up yellow armour.
Think this dumb sumbitch would be too big as the basis for a Lord of Contagion conversion?

>>95865447Those genes are mine foul xeno.
>>95865456How long is this guy gonna be feeling it until the Dark Eldar Refresh comes along?
After a decade of reading BL sloppa and playing vidya I've decided to actually buy models. I would get WE or do NL but I've got 1 year old son and want to display the models when I'm done and don't want him seeing gore and flayed skin. What would be the most child friendly or coolest army for a kid?
>>95865429People were shilling nail polish stamping plates for a bit, it seems like a good use case for them. A quick Google search yields some results that might work.
>>95865510Stick to playing vidya
>>95865510You can always paint them in a clean paintscheme and just have them be bad guys. If your son likes fantasy he will get over some skulls and skin.
>>95865485What the fuck do the Dark Eldar need to refresh anyway? They'll probably get a reboxing of Wracks so they're 10 instead of 5, plastic Grotesques and probably plastic Urien Rakarth. I don't expect more. If they go the Covens route they'll probably redo the Wrack sculpts since the current ones are kind of static looking but I'm not expecting more than that. The Kabalites, Wyches, Incubi, and all the vehicles are still great kits and I can't see them getting replaced. Maybe we'll see a plastic Court of the Archon kit (which would probably be in a KT more than anything) or new beastmaster/monsters. We know Lady Malys is coming but I want my fucking boy Vect back. We'll see. My hopes are high but my expectations are low.
>>95865335I should add, the people are doing that with the sprues when I'm buying new shrink wrapped kits in box.
So not only do I not get what I actually bought, but they risk the kit and ultimately save maybe $1.
If they charged me a loose sprue price, that would be one thing, but they don't.
>>95865518Is there a trustworthy source of custom nail polish stamping plate makers? I have googled but I still feel like I have found nothing.

>>95865242yikes. Ive never bought painted models on ebay but just another reason to never try it.
>>95865321>>95865371Flanderized AL is better than in lore AL. In lore AL is just generic chaos warband led by petty sorcerers who arent as good as the tsons ones. Flanderized lore is super spies who are really stealthy and good at disguise. GW needs to give us an AL lone up for CSM or maybe a kill team like they did for NL. A detachment would be really nice. Let you kill an infantry model on the map somewhere once per game and put an AL infiltrator on the board in its place to show they infiltrated before the game started.

Last time I used the lion was when the codex dropped and he was bad. Decided to try his new rules with the new detachment, He deepstriked and heroically intervened against 2 allarus and a captain, killed both and left the captain with 1 wound, then went and helped a squad of dwk destroy a calladius tank, helped said dwk kill a squad of guards with a blade champion and then charged and killed a squad of venatari before rolling snake eyes against a land raider which was destroyed next turn by the dwk. Why does it take GW so fucking long to start selling shit they showed off. I remember when they showed off those new Striking Scorpions and for whatever fucking reason it took like 6 fucking months for them to become avaivable to buy.

>>95865962It looks good in that picture though, not sure what you're smoking
>>95865890You did absolutely no research didn't you? It's a resin, plastic glue will not work. It prints in layers curing with LED light like stacking pieces of paper cutouts to make something 3d. It is very brittle, score every flat surface you can because it doesn't glue together very well with super glue. If it feels less dense or rather has less mass than GW resin it's probably hollowed which has a host of issues. Check for drainage holes, if there are none, there is a chance it just randomly breaks due to gas build up.

Retooling my Inquisitorial Sisters army for Champions of Faith.
Palatine leads and gives lethal hits to a BSS bringing Multimelta and Melta gun. Canoness with the 12" deny deep strike hangs with flamers on the home objective. Junith Eruita and the Imagifier team up with a Multimelta and Flamer to contest a flank on foot. Canis Rex hangs behind buildings and looks to get a charge off as soon as possible and a free Tank Shock stratagem. The Corvus Blackstar exists to use it's 20" flying movement as a delivery tool for the DW veterans lead by the Watchmaster. They can be deployed very close to almost anything they want to shoot, get a free grenades stratagem along the way. Celestine leading the Zephyrim with power swords hang in deep strike, ready to Rapid Ingress and kill whatever the best T5 infantry they can find are and support whichever BSS gets overwhelmed on either flank.
Champions of Faith as a detachment means I can give all 3 of my BSSs the full benefits of the detachment. I have tons of CP because I have 3 captain rules (Canis Rex, Watch Master, Cannoness) and Junith producing me CP. Can all the free strats out weigh half my army being allies?

>People would rather buy a 3D Printer to make models as in the long run its cheaper than GW
I'm surprised GW hasn't lowered the prices despite 3D printers becoming avaliable to people. And no store will throw you out for using 3D printed models as far as I know.
>>95866472Gw won't lower its prices because I think they aren't allowed to do so by investors.
Still even if they did go the Mantic Vault route in releasing some models as STLs, I think that it would just be a sign that the model is going to become legends soon knowing GW.
>>95866472Aren't they making more money than ever? Why would they lower prices if they're selling a ton?
3D printing is a hobby in itself and for most people it isn't a real alternative to buying from GW if that's the only thing they want it for. You also need a significant investment to make stuff of similar quality.

Why do some factions invoke so much ire from people when they play against them, but others don't, typically regardless of relative strength?
Examples:
>CSM: Nobody complains about fighting them
>Necrons: People complain a lot, not just about C'tan or Wraith spam, but even their regular datasheets, a lot of which just aren't very good compared to equivalents in other factions
>GSC: Had a high WR% for a long time, nobody complained about playing against them
>Custodes: People complain about playing against them even when they don't dominate the meta
>Tau: People seem to hate Tau now because of how they were in previous editions, which is just fucking stupid
At least nobody hates Orks, I guess.

>>95866933>but will you lose weight?Thought I was in /fat/ for a moment. Get mires or die trying.

>>95866472Yeah bro everyone is 3d printing GW is in shambles just donโt look at the price of shares or the investors reports
>>95866928Some armies are just obnoxious to play against. It's annoying to spend an entire turn shooting into a Custodes list just to kill three models. Ditto for Necrons undoing all of your progress on thinning their ranks with a simple resurrection protocol or using an orb. Tau have also had their moments in past editions (suits made to be unkillable with guardian drone spam, fish of fury, JSJ, frankly oppressive shooting even in editions where they're toned down), but are generally a lot better in this regard now (the edition where battlesuit and drone spam aren't the objective best way to play the army - curious).
tldr, uninteractive gameplay sucks dick.
I got the code for Spesh Marine Remastered from GW but it's not working lmao

These questions are probably gonna sound really, really dumb but how quickly can paint go bad if you don't open it and how important is primer?
I have a small selection of paints I've been meaning to use but indecision has bested me for far longer than I feel comfortable talking about and I'm unsure if they're useable but I also don't have any primer and want to know if I have to go buy some

So your call, but if you put enough detail into it and just do what you like it'll come out good enough, just have fun with it regardless
>>95867180Yes primer is mandatory. You are being gaslit by some schizo who says it isn't. Primer isn't just paint. It seeps into and clings to the model and provides a base for your normal paint. When stripping models usually the primer stays on, that's how deep it seeps in.
necron eyes should be smaller, it would make them scarier
>>95867253Necron personalities should be less reddit, that would also make them scarier.
>>95867180Primer is very important. Primer bonds with the surface of a model and gives the paint you put on afterwards something to adhere to. Paint can and does go onto a plastic model without primer but will flake off easily with even light handling without a primer layer beneath it.

>>95868825I'm disappointed you knew her name anon.
>>95868800To be fair, that's how 4chan is as well. Even if someone asks question like "why did emperor make space marines" the guy will get like 4 answers, but eventually those answers are drowned out by the new posts that come after and eventually that thread also gets deleted/archived when it hits page 10.
Which then prompts a new thread to be made where some other anon might ask the same question, gets same answers, rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

>>95868863I am the artist, I decide the breast size.
Kaldor Draigo defeating Mortarion isn't actually a problem. When you are a) one of the strongest psykers in the setting, b) a Space Marine chapter master, and c) you brain radiated daemon kryptonite...YEAH NO SHIT he has what it takes to 1v1 a daemon primarch. This is a non-issue. I have to assume the hate for it comes from a combination of the standard "I hate Space Marines" contrarian hipster crap, and reflexive hatred for Ward's bullshit. But, this is not something he got wrong.
>>95868786>DiscordIt's sadly a lot more complicated than that. The first huge exodus was after the election toruists came and ruined the site, combined with the elimination of quests & writefagging. There's a gigantic dropoff after most of the liberal-leaning creatives got hit with a double whammy of "Fuck off, we don't want you here" both materially and culturally. These were the people who kept /tg/ going and the board has been dying since then. Phoneposting made shitposting rampant and the ubiquity of this (one schizo can kill a general) means that now all you have are people addicted to (You)'s shitposting constantly while every good poster who would improve the quality of the community just goes somewhere else.

>>95868953That's because he didn't take into account Draigo's greatest power: Canon-demanding Plot Armor. No one is allowed to die if they're a named space marine that's important or written by Matt Ward.

>>95868959Clearly fucking not because he's still the leader of a legion. You can't have cohesion or a functioning army if your troops aren't loyal at all. It's just plot-contrived bullshit to ensure the heroes are victorious and the villains lose so it can be repeated ad nauseum.
>>95868938Right, warp magic AIDS. If only Draigo has something, like, I don't know, a brain that radiated daemon kryptonite to keep him safe. Warp viruses are daemons too, you know. Because if they're not...then what the fuck are they?
>>95868967>Clearly fucking not because he's still the leader of a legion.Only because he's the daemon prince of Nurgle and he is more powerful than most of the legionaries.
Typhus being an exception and he's starting to edge out Morty in terms of favor when it comes to Nurgle.
>>95868960This is what I'm talking about. This board can never seem to wrap it's head around the idea that daemons lose, against anti-daemon specialists. No one bitches when Sisters of Silence do similar shit, they're expected to succeed against daemons. But for Grey Knights, you retards just...forget somehow?
>>95868976>No one bitches when Sisters of Silence do similar shitSisters of Silence have never done a single impressive thing.
>>95868970Yeah because his viruses affect the mind, body, and soul. Not every single disease is a mental illness or soulborne. Draigo still needs to worry about actual aids or actual hepatitus that magic can't fix. Magic or not he's breathing in millions of microbacterial infections that would overwhelm anyone that isn't a poorly written mary sue. Maybe if you were arguing for someone like Crowe I could see you being genuine, but Draigo is literally the worst part of 40k. He's not a real character with motives or troubles, he's just a walking cheat code that invalidated the point of a conflict
>>95868976>anti-daemon specialistswhy is the imperium the only one allowed to have them?
you would think eldar, a faction defined by their enmity with a chaos god, would have anti-demon tools, or necrons, a faction defined by an ancient war against psychic opponents, would have anti-warp units, or tyranids, a faction characterised with an anti-psychic field and now with an anti-chaos fleet, would have a specialist against demons
but no, apparently it's only the technologically stagnant and retrograde imperium that has developed new tech and combat units designed for fighting demons
>>95868976Anyone familiar with 40k enough from older editions know how that the Grey Knights were the least loved army since the Tau. They were written to be the strongest marines for the hardest job that also had some of the most incompetent decisions and writing failures that GW has been trying hard to brush under the rug. Anyone familiar with the term "Khornate Knights" would know full well how bad their lore was.
>>95868988>Draigo still needs to worry about actual aids or actual hepatitus that magic can't fix. He's a space marine, space marines are designed by the Emperor to be immune to diseases from the Materium.
Also you forget but space marine power armor effectively works as a hazmat suit.
And you forget that magic in 40k CAN literally fix disease shit, psykers use biomancy constantly.
>sweaty tourneyfags are in the lgs escalation league AGAIN
>>95869001You also forget that the whole "immune to diseases from the Materium" is fucking bullshit because they still get infected by Nurgle all the fucking time. It's why Plague Marines exist to begin with. You even forgot the part doing any kind of magic requires concentration to work unless you hurt yourself from the perils of the warp. Sicknesses don't just make you physically weak, but mentally fucked up so you can barely focus as much as you normally would. Have you taken any biology at all or are you just a random tourist posting on /tg/?
>>95868997>why is the imperium the only one allowed to have them?Ask GW.
Still doesn't make any less sense when they are anti-daemon specialists.
>>95868997Because GW only cares about the Imperium's perspective and no one else's. Space Marines are the top priority and anything else might as well not exist to them.
>>95869017>is fucking bullshit because they still get infected by Nurgle all the fucking time.Nurgle diseases are all warpborn shit which break the laws of physics and do whatever the fuck they want.
Fucking Nurgle's Rot or Walking Pox, do not work or even play by the same rules as shit like Ebola or the Black Death.
>>95868997>why is the imperium the only one allowed to have them?Because the Imperium represents Christianity, and so of course has effective counters to demons. Eldar are just pagans.
>>95869024They still do play by the same rules like Ebola or the Black Death in order to be a physical manifestation in the material world. They still need to physically infect their host to be effective and many of the symptoms are still very much real. The fact you think every single disease by Nurgle is warpborn and not biodiverse shows how little you know of Warhammer. Get off your phone or your mom might catch you on this site again
>>95868998>Anyone familiar with the term "Khornate Knights" would know full well how bad their lore was.The bloodtide was good fluff though, only hated by dimwits.
>>95868997The Harlequins are the anti-demon specialist of the Eldar FYI.
That's what the black library is all about.
>>95869031Bait use to be believable...
>>95869037It's not bait, and you cannot even describe why it is bad, you're just a simp who is blindly following along.
>>95869029>They still do play by the same rules like Ebola or the Black Death in order to be a physical manifestation in the material world. They don't.
Nurgle's rot can infect you without you ever becoming into contact with it. You can just get infected by it if Nurgle himself thinks "You know what? Fuck you." and from then on you are infected and you will inevitably be turned into a Plaguebearer because of it. And more you resist the Rot more stronger it is but also more stronger of a daemon you will inevitably become.
Another example is Nurgle's zombie plague, you can get infected by that shit just because you're "lacking faith", you don't even need to come into contact with the person who is infected with the disease.
>>95869051The Grey Knights, who are known for being immune from corruption from Chaos, needlessly kill Sisters of Battle to use their blood to make runes and wards against chaos corruption that they were already immune to. The Grey Knights are a bigger threat to the Imperium than the daemons they're hunting.
>>95869051The whole thing about GK is that they are immune to Chaos corruption
>>95869059Congrate, you explained one part of the virus but not the complexities that make them physical manifestations with physical symptons in their victim even if they were spiritually infected. >>95869062>The whole thing about GK is that they are immune to Chaos corruption>>95869061>The Grey Knights, who are known for being immune from corruption from ChaosThey put work into being able to resist to Chaos corruption, and are not simply passively immune. >The Grey Knights are a bigger threat to the Imperium than the daemons they're hunting.Except not, because they actually saved the day.
>>95869070There has not been a single recorded instance of a grey knight turning to chaos, and there has only been one recorded instance of a sister of battle turning traitor (Mirael Sabathiel). Not only was the need for chaos-resistant runes redundant but the sacrifice was entirely unnecessary for the day to be saved. Their entire lore is fucking retarded because they kill the people they're meant to save just to hide their identity, which is the opposite of saving the day
>>95869034No, they aren't.
>>95869081>There has not been a single recorded instance of a grey knight turning to chaos,Okay, and? How is that in any way a contradiction to what I said? They don't fall to Chaos because they're well-prepared. They prepared against the bloodtide by creating talismans from innocent blood.

>THEN WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT OF THEIR EXISTENCE?!? To stop Chaos from spreading and fucking up more people. Grey Knights are simply using scorched earth strategies. This isn't uncommon to the Imperium as a whole, so what's your issue with it here?

The need for more immunity on top of immunity is redundant, unneeded, and contradictory to their existence as daemonhunters. There's no constant need to improve because they were already trained at Titan to become a Grey Knight in the fucking first place.
>What's the issue with using scorched earth strategies? This is the smoking gun that proves you only get your information from memes and reddit. Mass Murder and Exterminatus isn't common in the Imperium because it's typically saved as the final option when all else fails. It's terrible for a Grey Knight to slaughter the humans he was trying to save because he's, this next part is very important: --->((([[[a fucking psyker!!!!]]])))<--- They don't need to actually kill anyone to hide their secret because, get this, having psychic powers means you can magic away the memories of your existence without any struggle. Think about this moment for a single second and wonder why some people found you and this story retarded: In order to stop the khornate influence, the Grey Knights performed a bigger act of khorne with the wholesale slaughter of their allies and using their blood to make religious symbols.
