Normal. They're called here 'green cucumbers' (not sure why, all are green).
To differentiate them from dill/fermented gherkins. We have one word for all (ogórek).

Anyway, only the fresh cucumbers.
For any other dishes that aren't salads- 99% of the time they're some kind of gherkins.
