It is but you need context, back then was like a caveman running down the cave with a torch to show you the awesome fire. If you were to watch Citizen Kane or Vertigo you'd kinda understand why so many people think they are the best movies made, even after all those years, but I don't think Ocarina holds today to blow you away on its own, you got to appreciate it within context. And yes, back then it was a landmark, can't think of another that tops it.
