Honestly if you don’t like challenges anons just play a different wargame.
I for one find
“One brave lad steps forward as his unit shirks away from this horrifying foe”
“Shoving a lone rat into the way then strategically fucking off”
“A hero forced to concentrate on a worthy foe - an ancient undead who rises again and again”
- the heroic sacrifice/bait/whoever means at the end of combat the rest of the unit is pressed to pull down the monster rider off their mount. Encircling them. Hastily the hero realises this and falls back, escaping encirclement.
Ultimately I like challenges a lot as it depowers the super heroism which is so rife, even in this thread.
Even a mighty dragon riding lord could be cut down by a foe he pays no attention to, hence accepting the challenge.
