>Continuing with a few more Horikoshi comments from the MHA Exhibition. Horikoshi says that while drawing the Ochako versus Toga manga scene, it was an almost spiritual creative experience because he was getting close to the deadline but still wanted to change the dialogue from the storyboard. He felt like the characters were speaking to him asking, ‘is it really okay to do this?’ When he was drawing Ochako’s face in the page spread, he felt that she looked too sad. That’s why he wanted to revise the dialogue where Ochako’s words would reach Toga’s heart.
>Horikoshi has some comments about how he designed DEKU BLACK:
>This was actually something he wanted to draw even before the series came to fruition. He had a vague idea that in his story, the world will fall apart, and he wanted the protagonist to stand in the middle of that ruined world. DEKU BLACK's design focuses on the eerie smile on its face. Since Deku's mask is an homage to All Might's smile, he thought to turn that iconic smile upside down, which would be terrifying. He kinda went overboard with the lineart though, which made it difficult to draw lol.
