You can play modern games at high resolutions and they look like shit. Some early 360 games look awful at high resolutions. You play Gears of War at 4k and all the buildings look like construction paper past 5 feet because no one could tell at low resolutions with post processing slapped over the screen, and the textures are muddy. Halo 3 aged uniquely well because high resolution brought forth all the detail that was there, where as with some other games exposed how ugly they are.
