So apparently the wind gust jump things don't prevent you from building on them. In fact, you can place foundation directly upon them.
Which means you can make some nifty base concepts with these things. I'll probably build tall base around one of these that gives a big launch and use that to get to upper floors. Or even just construct a base that is up in the sky on pillars and can only be accessed through this, that sounds fun too.
