>Ending is shit
>Game masturbates a bit too hard over Kreia, who supplants the Exile as protagonist in a very grating way. They "Force-bonded" in-game in some weird, symbiotic relationship. But in terms of the meta narrative, Kreia takes on a more parasitic role. Every cutscene has to involve Kreia in some way or another. Can't make a choice in dialogue without her permission. Can't make a pivotal choice during a crucial party of the story without her permission. Can't charge up any of the character's loading ramps without her permission. Can't find out what happens to any of the characters without the literal "word of God" narrating to you their exact fate in that rushed ending. She is a black hole from which no other character or subplot can escape
>The prose is good. The overarching story, pacing, ending, etc, are not. People too often conflate Obsidian's DIALOGUE with the former and assume that the entire package is well-written. While I agree that certain parts of the game ARE well-written (Jedi enclave), the whole thing ends up becoming less than the sum of its parts
>deconstructionism has no place in Star Wars. I'm sorry, I will die on this hill
>Whole thing felt way too bleak compared to KotOR 1. And no, even Empire Strikes Back wasn't as dark as this shit. Don't even try to compare the two.
>Game suffered from Tales of Berseria syndrome (read: Everyone is the same shade of cynical, nihilistic asshole) especially when compared to the first game. Atton, Kreia, Visas, HK, etc. Only exceptions (somewhat) are Bao-Dur and the dude you find in the library (never recruited him because I never played as a female Exile).
KotOR 1 did this so much better by having a more heterogeneous cast of party members. It's not so utterly suffocating on repeat play-throughs.
>Game can feel like it takes itself TOO seriously. Lucas understood this. Imagine if there were no scenes of levity or comedic relief (as bad as they were) in the prequels/OT
