I assume you mean when we infiltrate the magitek research facility and speak with Cid there? I don't think he said Kefka used to be good or righteous, just that he volunteered for the procedure. Could have been any number of reasons for that. Considering it was Vector's super soldier program, he may have just wanted power and prestige
