default is great for crowd control, the special has huge stagger value, enough to stop mutants mid charge or crushers mid swing
for blessings you have a lot of options, I run it with decimator + take a swing for mowing down hordes while using plasma for armor

mk8 with thrust and uncanny for CRUSHERS could be here, the uncharged special is enough to one shot most specials including mutants as well
