I've only played him with randoms and it's still been just fine. Just won 7 games straight against him. 3 of which were terrible squads that I thoroughly carried. 1 was just a normal run with competent people. The last 3 were with some randoms I became friends with because we were so efficient.

Our final run together I got 750k runes. Was level 15 before the first circle started closing on the second day. And went completely hitless during the nightlord.
