Eh, you're right, no argument there. Even in HM the result of your fight gets published in the Bunbunmaru, and it's the only real newspaper that's shown being read by people. At the very least she's doing better than Kakashi spirit news. Still, it's cute to imagine her being flattered by you liking her paper because she doesn't expect it.
A type of flattery that would be more canonical would probably be inflating her already large ego by telling her how much you like her paper.
