No, the reason fighting games aren't popular is because they aren't intuitive to learn, aren't newb friendly, and require way too much time to sink in before you can even begin to compete at even the lowest level unless you enjoy getting perfect'd every game. Oh and let's not forget the fact that this genre is exclusively made by boomers and/or retards who seem to expect everyone to be using a Sega Genesis controller with how every game labels button inputs with A/B/C instead of real prompts that correspond to the input device the player is using (PS/Xbox Controller, Fight Stick, Keyboard, etc.) further making the genre harder to learn. It's why FPS games are so popular because they're extremely easy to pick up and don't require a degree in rocket science to pick up. Here's your gun, there's the enemy, fucking shoot them. Why can't fighting game devs learn?
