Goal: Play 50 games in various formats. Use the same deck across all games. Take notes. Be mindful of own and opponents land drop, and card draw.
Deck used picrelated:
A fairly basic Standard legal Red/Blue Cori-Cutter deck that requires a bit of luck to work. Especially since land base is very simple. Cori-Cutter is main threat. It requires two spells to be cast in a row, so everything is cheap. Slickshot and Rage are secondary threats. Slickshot can help activating Cor-Cutter and Reverb in mana shortage if cast from being plotted. Drake Hatcher comes in hand against mirror matches with 2-damage removal, and can cause problems if she manages to attack pumped up. I also like running Reverberating Summons. It enters activated if it lands as 2nd spell in turn. For example, Slickshot cast, then Reverb is immediate 6 damage attack. Where Cori-Cutter then Slickshot is 3 damage. Does nothing on defence, but is immune to Authority of the Consuls, and even larger number of wipes as Cori-Cutter.
Deck does very well vs. standard board wipes. Bad against Lock-up. High Noon is hard counters that has practically no answers. Black discard decks are unfavourable matchup. Red/White Mice is unfavourable. Against other Jeskai Cutter decks and against mono Red Mice it is about equal. Mono red goblins are unfavourable matchup as well. Oculus, Overloards, and Synthesizer are too slow for it, and are a good matchup. Lifelink decks are a problem if they manage to get to late game.
Pay to win?:
All games were played on account that never spent a single dime in in game store. I did enter one promo code that came with Prerelease Pack.
Formats played:
48 ranked games Best of One Pioneer (plan was 50 games, I screwed up game numbering and ended at 48)
50 ranked games Best of One Standard (I played extra games at the end as I tried to get to Mythic with this deck)
