The same must have been said for every form of entertainment for hundreds of years. You know people use to hate on books like that? And it’s true, many books ARE slop and honestly don’t do much for cognition. (Well at least they improve your language capabilities? But you could also argue their bad language will deteriorate your language capabilities.)
I think the interesting thing with entertainment is how consumers and especially subsequent generations become largely "immune" (bored) to it. The kids of zoomers (if they will have any) will laugh at their parents still clinging onto those cringe-ass short clips, and instead be doing some new outrageously hardcore entertainment thing. Maybe hoverboarding?
