Wildermyth is a videogame that I've had a lot of success playing with non-gaming girls, for a few reasons.

1, it's a turn-based RPG on a tactical grid, so it relies on strategy more than on-the-spot decision-making. When it's your turn to play you can slow down, take your time, and really think things through without pressure.
2, it's playable co-op, so if the inexperienced player makes mistakes then the experienced player can swoop in to save their ass.
3, you can design and redesign your characters as if they were Sims, then treat them as seriously or as goofily as you want.
4, the stories are told in comic book form instead of in textdump form, so the stories move quickly and you can have extra fun by reading the characters' dialogue out loud in your own voices (like you're at a table reading for a play-- even non-gaming normies LOVE THIS).
5, the writing is sometimes good and sometimes millennial cringe that's simultaneously faux-deep and flippantly wannabe-witty, which is a good thing because that's "so bad it's good" and you can have fun laughing at it.
6, your characters grow older and the game's internal logic (using random numbers that are out of your control) will sometimes make your characters get married and have children who grow up to replace your original characters, and what woman doesn't love free virtual babies?
