I saved up for like 2 years doing carlife then got a mortgage on a 30k house which I flipped with a government grant.
I tried working but I ended up getting gangstalked and could only do seasonal until even that didn't work anymore and the new sandwich shop in town hired me and I was making bank doing delivery driving until they totaled me. Now I'm getting rentoid money, worker's comp and a payout from the insurance company so I'm taking that and buying land and building an earthship with leftover materials from the remodel cause this kike contractor tried to jew me with ill-fitting doors and windows which I got to keep.
Land is like $30k max, the materials to build an Earthship are under $10k. You could get by with a gravity fed cistern, solar and /diy/ing all the necessary stuff for permits like a leech field for a septic system and even making your own driveway. I plan to build the house for well under $100k
I think people just live in these overpriced areas and can't imagine looking elsewhere outside of the east or west coast.
