I disagree that you would get a redemption arc out of that. Most people find the emptiness boring and for a redemption arc you need more action and not more of that same emptiness. Either an
alien invasion of the settled system or a rogue Starborn faction. More hostility and violence in Space. Add to that more fancy stuff like custom armor/weapons, better settlements and better ships. We need space Lambos. Starfield has so much potential....
