They should have made it The Expanse with future Earth cities, Mars, etc., and just restricted it to a pair of solar systems, Sol and Alpha Centauri. Breathing Masks for planets that are just slightly off, too much CO2 or atmosphere too thin to breathe but doesn't harm the skin. Civilian clothes + mask and you're fine.

Pressure Suits for the like of Mars-like planets, temperature is not too dangerous and non-toxic/corrosive but unbreatheable and either too cold or warm or low to walk the surface unpressurized. Most combat armors would have this level of protection.

Spacesuits for vacuum or something like Titan, some serious hazard that requires a combination of pressurized, thermal controlled and or radiation shielding.
