I feel like I've been progressing slower and retaining way less since I started following /djt/'s advice of not producing at all and just using anki and reading.

Am I insane to think that actually trying to produce sentences is by far the best way to retain grammatical concepts? Like you can use anki for vocab lists or whatever, but nothing beats handwritten production, I feel, especially the basic
