Yeah, it could be that either they took some liberties with her like they did with Takemaru or it's related to her origins. The Suzuka we got seems to lean more towards her oni interpretation, but there were also ones where she was a human or a heavenly maiden (the latter of which was in the myth with Takemaru, I believe?). Pretty sure she alludes to the whole "different versions of herself" thing at some point too.
