Japan generally has access to far fewer brands of product competition, what with not having any land-based trade routes. Coleman and "Captain stag" OWN the camping market. And Captain Stag goods are pretty junky, you can buy them from Donkihote (think Japanese K-Mart, but they also sell cosplay and bulk imported snacks). There's Mont-Bell too but they're grossly overpriced and meant for unapologetic glampers.
