It would have been so easy to tie in a world war into the general apocalypse that's coming, and have it be a major part of Yoru getting stronger. Instead he just randomly drops this in a three page reveal.
I don't know what happened to Fujimoto but he's shit at writing now. Part 1 started slow but turned out really well in the end, and with Part 2 it really feels like he has no idea what he's doing. Just dropping random mysteries, sudden deaths, and "major reveals" that don't matter.
