You know, I was just going to make a snarky remark, but I just had an epiphany? What if I am not even supposed to be looking at the Astral at all? What if Sammy isn't even a spirit but something that is 'below the physical'? The Gnostics coined this term as Sarkic. It's below even hylic. If the Astral is a divine realm where a physical body does not exist, then the Sarkic is the 'infernal' realm where spirit does not exist. Instead of immortal souls, you have immortal flesh, but how do you communicate? "It's in the Blood!". No spirit would dare descend into this realm for its self-annihilation. All the myths about gods descending into the underworld only meet a horrible fate and require immense divine power to restore them? It's a warning to them.
