Thing is, I've been looking for a threaded 22 WMR rifle so I have a rifle slightly more powerful than my 10/22 (but not quite a .223) not to mention more accurate than my 10/22, with a nicer trigger than my 10/22, and also factory threaded without having to find odd and potentially retarded looking models (I'm looking at YOU, Ruger!). I could go with the 223 M1500 but it would absolutely shred groundhogs lol. Not to mention I already have an AR for fox/coyote. And WMR is cheaper to shoot by a large margin; last I checked good CCI 22WMR hollowpoints for hunting costs about what cheap ball 9mm does, like ~$0.19cpr compared to $0.375cpr for the cheapest 5.56 brand name with decent shipping on Ammoseek (Aguila 55gr M193) or the cheapest .223 ($0.30-0.344cpr for Hornady steel case or PMC 55gr Bronze). Practice is just so much cheaper it's retarded; you can even shoot with your hunting ammo at the range for that price and not even worry. Meanwhile good hunting ammo for .223 is like $0.70cpr if not $1/rd+ last I checked.
Though you now have me rethinking my purchase of another rifle I had in the back of my head. Instead of getting a second AR and upgrading that or buying a scout for coyote (yes, I'm nostalgic for online games from that era), I could instead get a M1500 and a McMillan stock. Hmm...

Tungsten and Bismuth shot also exists BTW, super dense shit. Like $80/5rds 3" Magnum 12ga at Cabelas I shit you not. Apparently shotgun hunters use it for longer range birds but I think it also has military uses.
