He's a haggered old drunk who dropped out over a woman a couple years before the clone wars, though the marriage lasted about three years as you would expect from a sixteen year old. he was mistakenly listed as dead well before the purge began and bounced around the outer rim as a barfly who surfaced as a freighter crewman, salvage worker and occasional import/exporter in the better years.
he's a self-deprecating but not self-pitying mess, and the plan was that he'd gradually eithther chose to try and do something decent by joining up with the rebels, if that was the way the campaign went, or else just try to deal with the various absolute shitbags of the outer rim when he could.
The lightsaber was a variable-length, yellow, which he disguised in the casing of a plasma cutter, but he usually carried around a pair of cheap slugthrowers (slug guns because they are legal more places, two because that way he can still hit stuff when he's seeing double)
