The damage this has done to the discussion of what "good animation" is has been immesurable. Everything online, especially on youtube, is only about "action sakuga" with a very specific flow (3D camera, unsteady povs, Nakamura-inspired timings etc) and NOBODY gives a fuck about minute mechanical animation, character acting or inventive and smart use of the limitations of the medium, like the entire Dezaki school and his descendants (Shinbou, Ikuhara etc) or the slower realistic school of direction (Mochizuki, Takahata etc)
