Fairies are the most powerful race. They're immortal, can fly, have magic, don't need to eat, are the most populous, live everywhere, are universally cute, and most of all can survive independently of humans. It's understandable why prideful and insecure youkai could dismiss fairies, but any honest human would admit to the superiority of fairies. Though humans do have a tendency to be tsundere towards fairies, pretending to find them annoying and dislike them.
