50 million people got killed by augs and now people are understandably too afraid to ride the train with them. Instead of actually exploring this like Deus Ex 1 would have, the devs just call them bigots. Then you go to the ghetto and get lectured on police brutality by a sassy black lady doctor.
It is a literal propaganda game and you have to turn your brain off to enjoy it.
