It's hard to describe, but it was like I simultaneously felt that sad nostalgia feeling, but also happy. I was happy that Haruhi existed, happy that Tanigawa had set it in his hometown and that Kyoani had put so much passion into it. It made me want to make something like Haruhi, to immortalize a place. I felt like perhaps aliens and time travelers could still be somewhere around the corner, but you have to look for them.
