They probably both filter fed on gorillions of krill while also being able to hunt other massive leviathans. Deep sea gigantism is a real thing. Getting one massive kill a week would sustain them. But they'd also probably just float along not expending much energy whatsoever until they run into a Sea Emperor Leviathan or Reefback.
