Showing his true colors yet again by cutting his own hype man loose like a dingleberry because he thought one criticism was going to water a scandal.
Imagine already having tens of millions of dollars in revenue and STILL memory holing someone you've worked with for years because they noticed something that you actually did and that other people would be pissed about. Utilizing eceleb audience reach with free keys and exclusive testing to advertise how fun your game is for you, then tossing them away if they say anything you don't like. All of the upsides and none of the drawbacks or transparency or icky lovely ethics, just like Big Boy Developers & Publishers do.
It's not unprecedented to have no stakes or real risk to himself and still make the coward's decision. He did the same thing when he ruled accessing MP early Apollyon-level off limits to mention, terrified that normies would play it en masse by deleting a single line of code, then abandon the game when they found it didn't have proper desync yet (it didn't have stable desync on launch or even now. Maybe next time).
In reality, the only important part to him is controlling the narrative and keeping their cushy situation where they do 5% work for 5000% returns going as long as possible. They wear "indie" like a protective cape, but you can see the fear and greed when they stop talking about the game openly and do shit like this. This is why you should feel schadenfreude instead of annoyance every time you open a new patch to see half the game is broken.
