When I was in the dorms in college the only grocery store within walking distance was safeway. It was fine enough for most things but their meat department was legitimately awful and I was kind of fucked on that front. If my mom didn't live an hour away I don't know what I would have done for meat without gambling with that shitty ass safeway.
The other part that sucked is there was always homeless people outside and on the way there no matter when you went.
