Hehe, thanks for the reply. Honestly, it also annoys me when people ask how to learn something that’s literally right in front of them.
I do have a lot of my own drawings, but yeah, I really don’t want to be mediocre — I don’t know if you get what I mean.
I usually draw for myself, and I think posting a little on the chan might help me. You know, I’m a shy woman and it’s hard for me to talk to people, especially about the things I like.
Studying art is really hard. Even with a real model in front of you and everything available to analyze and correct — it’s still not easy.
I’ll post below one of the studies I did of mouths, eyes, ears, etc… even though I have a sketchbook with over 200 drawings, before I started copying Aleria and Baalbuddy, I had no clue how to put things together and actually make something.
What little understanding I have now came from copying both of them and figuring out how they work.
Anyway, thank you for pointing that out to me. Commissions are tough. My next step will be trying to understand backgrounds — but if the 'main dish', which is the character, isn’t great, then background, lore, perspective, color… none of it matters.
