Forgot the pic. Look at how the two on the top are not in perfect rows. That "imperfection" is what made it look so smooth. Also why CRT for PCs looked amazing. And they were doing "HD" resolutions back then with 1024x768. This is also why modern home projectors look better than modern TVs. When you cast the image to a wall or screen you need to focus the image and the casted light blends softly/lightingly so you can see film grain in movies yet it doesn't look pixelated.
