yes, God is the Creator and Prime Mover. But under molinism, God's creative act includes free creatures whose choices are not causally determined by Him.
God's middle knowledge allows Him to know what any free creature WOULD do in any circumstances, without causing those choices.
so when God "signs off" on a world, He's choosing one where FREE AGENTS act in ways that fulfill His purposes, even if some of those choices involve evil.

knowing what will happen doesn't mean CAUSING it to happen.
molinism argues that God's foreknowledge is logically prior, not causally effective.
He knows what will happen because He knows what free creatures would do, not because He forces them to do it.

the claim that God "approved of all events" is nuanced in molinism,
God permits evil ONLY IF IT'S NECESSARY for a greater good (example: redemption, love, freedom)
permitting isn't the same as endorsing. Just as a parent might allow a child to make a mistake to learn from it, God allows freedom even when it leads to suffering.

God isn't just watching the movie, He's more like a cosmic editor who selects which story to publish from massive library of possible worlds.
the characters still lwrite their own lines, but God chooses the version where His goals are achieved through their free choices.

this entire back and forth hinges on whether foreknowledge entails causal responsibility, and the entire framework of molinism if built around the answer being "no."
