>Human beings are meant to work towards something
Lately I've been wondering what's going to happen in the next hundred years as AI surpasses human effort in every single field. So much of our collective perception of the world is predicated on the fact that it's possible for us to achieve meaningful things through concentrated effort (i.e. work). What do we become when nothing is worth working towards anymore because machines can do it better and infinitely faster? This is what people mean when they talk about the transition to a post-work society, and honestly I can't wrap my head around it. But we're going to have to figure something out sooner rather than later, because our relationship with work is about to fundamentally changeb and I don't think we're at all prepared for it.
