This is something they're actually going to address. They've talked about in some recently Freshly Picked that they want to get more people to endgame faster. So they're making the chain exp campaigns more often and doing stuff like the recent free Bonanza Weapons.

And while yes it is easy these days to do the Missions, I highly recommend everyone to go through them regardless if you're with friends or not. It's really good.
