Clear plastic windows are fragile (unless they're inserts) and there's literally nothing inside of a transformer worth looking at
The only time it works is with really specific colors (like dark red) or if they paint something metallic behind it (like siege sideswipe or 86 prime)

Light piping on the other hand is dogshit that I've always hated, makes your figures look dead in the eyes 99% of the time and I do not consider "hold this figure up to the power of the sun to make their eyes glow a little(maybe)" to be a fucking play feature
