That looks impossibly bad for a crash at Bowman Gray. I would think a late model would have a tough enough crash structure to sustain a hit at those speeds.

Yeah, there were probably some very specific circumstances that made a bad crash into a fatal one. Maybe something came through the windshield in just the wrong way or something?
It's always sad when a fellow motor/sp/ortsman dies, especially when it's racing related. I know everyone knows the risks, but that doesn't mean crap when his family has to look at the empty seat at the dinner table.
