To play devil's advocate, this isn't entirely a bad thing. I'd hate for Pan's only thing to be "she is le next Goku!". I don't want shittier Goku when we get something new or else I'd just read more Goku. Having pan inherent the superfluous visual aspects of Goku to imply a connection while having a different personality is good.
I feel the same way with a hypothetical Goten successor. I don't want him to be Goku but shit. I want him to be his own person with his own relationships, goals, and personality.
Giving either of them Goku handmedowns (powerpole, Dragon Fist, orange gi, ect) is fine as long as there's more to it than "OH MY GOODNESS LOOK HE IS GOKU BUT NOT HIM!"
I for one liked how Gohan had a very different friend circle than Goku. Seeing everything towards his lens gave the early Buu arc a different feel that hasn't been replicated since.
Goten has an aunt-nephew like relationship with 18 and an older sister-like with Videl. It'd be neat to see what else him or Pan have.
