Hey, do you remember when GI Joe used to get endcaps without movies? This was at the front of store too. Can you imagine a toyline being so popular without a movie or cartoon backing it? Right up there with Star Wars.

The Renegade figures were mainly liked back in the day. People thought that they were a bit too skinny and slightly cartoony, but it was overlooked due to how great they looked. I think most people liked that CC over Duke and SE. Very Cobra-La-like.
Later Renegade figures were almost impossible to find, due to how popular they were. The Renegade Storm Shadow was THE definitive Storm Shadow back then and i don't think any SS has gotten as much love since.

This would be Hasbro doing something right, but considering 1:18 prices have dropped on eBay, is there much of a fanbase left? Hasbro has been counterproductive in growing the brand and actively fucked over its fans, considering they cockblocked Hiya from releasing their GI Joes in the US.
