Why is it always assumed that Phrolova *started off* with unethical experimentation rather than an escalation born of failure? I keep seeing anons say things along the lines of Rover's conversation being the catalyst for her going crazy, but it's outright stated (several times, even) that Phrolova had been active long before she met Rover and she had tried dozens of other methods to achieve her goals at that point, without success.
