>no elements
They said why but it's a crappy reason.

>Takai: We have not included an attribute system. You can use whatever summoner you want to use against any opponent and get 100% performance out of it. Of course, there are graphic distinctions, such as flame effects, but there is no rule that says you should switch to an ice summoner when fighting a flame enemy.
The problem with
>you can use anything
is there's no incentive to use anything else but what you've used before unless it's better for non-elemental reasons. Past threads pointed out the devs could've added a light 10-20% damage increase with no enemies with elemental resistances if they wanted players to use what they want but also incentivize trying new moves. Instead, blasting the fire enemy with fire is the same as blasting ice. There's no real variety or point in swapping to a different element for a given enemy. It just makes everything the same.
The worst reason all the posts comparing FF16 to Hoyo is wrong is because FF16 has less faith in their players than a fucking Chink gacha. A Google search can tell you their games have element systems but the Takai thinks Final Fantasy players can't handle the same Pokemon
>Water is Super Effective against Fire
style that's been in past Final Fantasy titles since game 1. He frames it like anyone can use anything they want but it just means there's no difference in changing, so why bother?
