>ALL JP romances (shounen, not talking about shojou) are the same. There is a main / official mono couple regardless of how many supposed love interests there are. From the beginning to the end the main couple is in love and never waivers. If there is a problem in the relationship it’s ALWAYS because of a misunderstanding, or one side tries to distance themselves in the belief that it’s in the best interests of the other. You don’t need to read / watch any JP romance to know roughly how it will go and what developments there are likely to be.
Seinen romances say otherwise about the misunderstandings. If problems arise between the main couple in adult targeted stories, then be sure it's gonna be because of clashing PoVs and one of the parts having shattered expectations about the other or viceversa.
