You don't need a display server at all for that! So it's a moot point.

There's tons of graphics programs that either don't work with Wayland at all or they're spotty at best. Lots of commerical stuff is in that camp.
And anything running under Wine/Proton with Wayalnd and/or XWayland causes lag and it's flaky.
