Because this is a sloppily written little children's cartoon that you all get worked up about. The writers obviously thought about the premises, "What if there's a really boastful arrogant show off character and make an episode about that?" "okay" *write* *write* "Let's make the character more interesting what should they be like? She shows off with magic, to contrast with Twilight... she's a magician!"
And then they finished the episode before realising that making her a performing magician ruins the entire moral lesson.
