Surely there are enough superhero movies at this point. I watched a bit of an X Men one and could appreciate that it's light entertainment with a lot of spectacle which is fine but it's not exactly deep.

I think geeks ascribe too much meaning to this stuff and would do better to vary their input. It's like shoving burgers into your eyes.
